Workshops 2003 - 2004:
December 6-8, 2004 Workshop on Recent High Latitude Climate Change Siberia, Alaska/northern Canada and the Antarctic Peninsula have warmed more than any other regions on Earth over the last 50 years. Parts of Greenland have also experienced significant warming over recent years. The reasons for the observed temperature increases are not fully understood, but involve cyospheric feedbacks, coupled with changes in the atmospheric circulation, and possibly ocean currents. future direction of high resolution, basin-scale and regional hydrological modeling. The
workshop will focus on precedents in data processing, hydrological modeling, and field
observations, including needs, scientific and economic issues, and possible solutions in
this region. The workshop will be designed to include interdisciplinary research such as
hydrology, meteorology/climate, and oceanography. The workshop will produce
recommendations on the hydrological modeling approaches based on the current research
in the polar and subpolar regions. More information is available at the website below.
