About IARC
The International Arctic Research Center [IARC] serves as a focal point of integrating/synthesizing arctic research efforts in terms of climate change and communicates the results to the global climate research community. Our core research group interacts with a larger number of scientists from many parts of the world, enabling climate change research to truly be an international effort.

Why use a blog (web log)?
Definition from wikipedia: A weblog, which is usually shortened to blog, is a website where regular entries are made (such as in a journal or diary) and presented in reverse chronological order. Blogs often offer commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries.

Many researchers who go into the field keep journals on their field studies and activities. Ships that carry scientists to remote areas of the globe also keep ship logs. It seemed natural to use the power of the Internet to help deliver some of the content to interested readers so we can keep in touch with our community. We hope you enjoy visitng our expedition blog and please feel free to post comments and ask questions.
